La Fonteta hosts the first Endesa League quarterfinals playoffs battle vs. Unicaja
Valencia Basket opens in the Fonteta the Endesa League quarterfinals series vs. Unicaja (Friday 31, 19:15h, Movistar Deportes) with the aim of asserting the home-court advantage for which he has worked all season and adding the first point of this best of three series.
In addition to having the Fonteta on their side, the taronja squad has in favor with the recent precedents against this rival (has won in nine of the last ten Unicaja visits to the Fonteta) although the dynamics of the two teams' results since the last time they played at La Fonteta (a month ago and with a taronja win by 96-57) is the same, with five wins and one defeat. And the numbers say that the statistical balance is maximum between the third best defense (Valencia Basket with 78.6 points received) and the fourth best attack of the Endesa League (Unicaja with 83.6 points scored).
Center Mike Tobey is back to action once he has recovered from a subluxation in his left shoulder. But shooting guard Matt Thomas will miss at least the entire quarterfinal Playoffs because he has not finished recovering from the surgery he needed in the right thigh. Bojan Dubljevic and Sam Van Rossom will offer their individual awards before the start of a game that will be full of honors.
